The men of Kappa Beta and Psi Rho Chapters of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. are strong supporters of education. The Holly Springs School District Board of Trustees recently honored the group with an award of appreciation. Dr. Irene Turnage, superintendent of education, described how for many years, the fraternity has donated large amounts of school supplies, incentives to reward students, and many other educational resources to the schools in the district. “Thank you for your unparalleled service to the students of the Holly Springs School District,” Dr. Turnage said. “This recognition is long overdue. We appreciate your commitment to education and the Holly Springs School District.” The men of Kappa Beta and Psi Rho Chapters of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. are constantly giving back to their community. As examples, they provide lunch for teachers, give books and read to students in the classroom, provide backpacks of school supplies to students, give funds to the “uniform closet,” sponsor the “fill up the bus” back-to-school supply drive, provide gift cards for reading and behavior/academic incentives, and provide a laptop each year for a graduate. All of these are yearly and continuing efforts from the men of Kappa Beta and Psi Rho Chapters of Omega Psi Fraternity, Inc. The award was presented during the February 14 school board meeting.
